One Response to Top 10 Child Prodigies From Around the World

  1. […] I was really saddened this week to learn about the death of the amazing child prodigy computer programmer Arfa Karim Randhawa. The young Pakistani girl  was only 16 years old and suffered a cardiac arrest after having an epileptic seizure. 16 years old! But her shockingly sad death follows an incredibly amazing short little life. Arfa was only nine years old when she became the world’s youngest Microsoft Certified Professional — a qualification usually gained by IT nerds and software developers after years of studying at University and countless hours playing World of Warcraft with other dateless bespectacled young men. That is of course a stereotype that Arfa smashed. As a child she was flown to the Microsoft Headquarters in the USA by Bill Gates and returned to Pakistan a superstar. Her list of accolades, achievements, and skills would put even Hugh Jackman’s many talents to shame. Her death is a great loss to the world. We will never know what else she could have achieved. It got me wondering about the other great child prodigies in the world, who are they, how did they become so awesome and how come I didn’t turn out that good? At one point my mother thought I may have been headed for some form of greatness when I started walking at the tender age of 9 months (most kids start at 12 months.) Sadly my talents peaked too soon. It’s all been downhill from there. The closest I’ve ever come to Prodigy was at Glastonbury 2010. So who are some of the most famous child prodigies? I found these ones from this great list at Listphobia. […]
