Universal Studios Hollywood
Another Theme Park that is full of rides that were inspired by the movies. It is also one of the oldest and most famous Hollywood movie studios still in use. Some of the rides based on movies you can come across include Shrek 4-D, The Simpsons Ride, Water world: A Live Sea War Spectacular, T2 3-D: Battle across Time and Revenge of the Mummy: The Ride.
While Los Angeles enjoys a lot of sunshine, the waters off the coast tend to be fairly cool as they come in off the Pacific Ocean. Knotts Berry Farm
Knotts Berry Farm is one of the most popular amusements parks in the state of California. Notable rides in the park include Supreme Scream, world’s tallest free-fall-type attraction (95 meters tall); Perilous Plunge, world’s tallest and steepest water chute ride (39 meters tall; 78 degrees); and the Xcelerator; world’s first hydraulically-launched roller coaster.
The Queen Mary
The RMS Queen Mary is a retired ocean liner that is now permanently moored to at Long Beach near LA. It is now a museum and hotel and totally worth a look. Much of the interior of the ship was gutted to make room for the museum and restaurants.
Six Flags Magic Mountain
This is located close to Santa Clarita which is located some 50kms north of LA. The Six Flags Magic Mountain amusement park is one of the largest roller coaster parks in the world. This park is mostly aimed at teenagers and older, though there are a handful of rides suitable for people shorter than 48″.
In Getty Center you can find the J. Paul Getty Museum which features a permanent collection of pre-20th-century European paintings, drawings, illuminated manuscripts, sculptures, and decorative arts; and there are also 19th and 20th century American and European photographs.
Rodeo Drive is a small shopping area found in Beverly Hills on the west side of LA. The street is famed for its designer label boutiques and haute couture fashion shops. For more reasonable options you could try visiting one of the many malls.
