The figures for the British Library are off, though - the article says it has "over 16 million" books, whereas it actually has over 25 million books, plus parchments, manuscripts, etc. The Bodleian Library in Oxford has about 11 million books, and the library dates from the early 14th century. It’s an interesting article, and great pics.
